The winter league final was held on Saturday 22 nd February on a rare sunny and dry day. Going into the final, Pat’s Lads who won the league the previous week, were red hot favourites. They didn’t disappoint and they overcame the weight of expectation with Justin Condon and Tom Glennane winning 3 up, Pat Kelly winning 1 up and Brad Flynn getting a great half against our Vice-Captain Tommy Morris for a total of 7 up. This gave the lads the win and confirmed the double.

The battle for second place turned out to be a very tight affair with El Banditos and The Pin Seekers both finishing on 4 up. However, after discarding the worst score The Pinseekers were still 4 up but El Banditos were now 7 up and that gave them second place thanks to wins by Keith and Adam Barnes and by Cathal “One putt” Wall. This was a great turnaround from the lads who were 19th in the League after 11 weeks but a strong finish got them to 8th place and they carried that form into the final.

On the individual front the league scoring was dominated by two women proving that the winter league is at the forefront of our one club philosophy. Here are the results:
